November Photos

On October 30, Sam participated in the Marine Corps Marathon to raise funds for orphaned children in China.    With ankle injury, he ran for 3 hour and 49 minutes to finish 26.2 miles.    Through generous friends and families, he was able to raise over a $1000!

After the race, he couldn't even walk straight.  His doctor ordered him to stop any type of physical activities for two weeks!   But there was not a single word of complaints from him.

Feeling obligated to finish the Cross Country season well and support his teammates, with his ankle worsen, Sam ran again three days after the marathon.  He gave his best run of the season at 19:39m at the championionship race.   No, he didn't win any medal or title at the Championship.  But he did in our hearts.

We don't see Sam smile for picture like this anymore.  May be it is because of his braces - he's got two big holes on each side.  But it will all be straight and pretty soon!  Smile!

Faith and Pearl are Sam's best cheerleaders!    They like to attend Sam's races and cheer for him.   Pearl would always scream at the top of her lung "O, O"(for "go, go!") or "um on, mum!!!" (for "Come on, run!") to cheer for Sam.    She is so funny!     Being so used to watching her brother run every day,  when Pearl notices Sam not being home, she would always ask, "哥哥mum'in  (big brother running)?"
