After more than 14 months of house hunting, we finally found a place we can call home. This is an older house built in 1972. The original owner has lived there for 36 years since it was built. The house is very plain and old, but it has everything we wanted - four large bedrooms, 2-car garage, a walk-out basement, lots of windows and lights, close to church and a nice open yard where the kids can safely play outside and plant fruits and vegetables. The kids call it the "ugly house", because of the dark and outdated kitchen. But overall, they have the same good feeling and are looking forward to move there. With some fresh paints and updates, the house should be quite nice. If everything goes smoothly, we will be moving at the end of November.
On home inspection day last Friday, we met the older couple who own the house. They are very kind to us, and were so eager to tell us the story of their house. They emphasized that the house has brought them so much good luck and joy over the past 36 years and that they are leaving the precious crystal chandelier in the foyer for us, so the good luck will continue in our family! What a thoughtful gift! We feel so honored to be the next owner of this house, and the chandelier will definitely stay there as long as we live in the house! God is so good to us.
This is our "ugly house"
This is why the kids call it the "ugly house"
